About Us

Our Uniqueness

As one of the most trusted schools in Virar-Vasai, we believe in holistic learning. Our goal is to equip every student to be a talented individuals, respected citizen and capable leader of the future.

The beginning of the Holy Cross English High School, Nirmal was extremely humble. It began with the Kindergarden in year 2000-2001, with the high thinking of His Lordship, Bishop Thomas Dabre and the initiative of Rev. Fr. Wilson Rebello. Each year a few more students would be added as each class progressed to the next year. In year 2011-2012, the first batch of around 49 students appeared for the SSC Board Examination achieving a 100% result, a feat that would become a trend which remains unbroken upto this very day.

Over the years, the Holy Cross English High School would develop a strong reputation among the local community, known for its discipline, efficiency and academic excellence. This reputation was possible because of the vision, dedication and efforts of Holy Cross Management. It created an environment where teachers were able to exhibit their talents and work without stress so that they could concentrate on their own demanding job of teaching and nurturing future generation.

We promote the highest academic standard by providing a challenging, stimulating and varied curriculum which fosters confidence, enthusiasm and curiosity.

Testimonials

After spending 12 years in this institution I can rightly say these were the best years of my life. My school has been a great contributor in development of my personality. Along with academics there is lot of focus on other curricular activities as well which helped me to learn different skills like leadership,  time management , team skills etc. The teachers take lot of efforts for their students making sure every child gets the required attention.

Every student has few teachers in their life they can’t ever forget and for me to name a few were miss Vijaya , Prinkle, Geeta , Savita ,Venisa ,and Delilah. Not only during school days but even after 8 years of passing out of school they are still in touch with me. One of the biggest lesson that I learned from my Principal Fr. Brandan Furtado was being disciplined and sincere in whatever you do and it has helped me a lot not only in my career but also in my personal life.

Lastly I couldn’t be more grateful to this place for giving me some beautiful friendships for lifetime. I will always have pride to be student of Holy Cross English High School, Nirmal

‘A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind, and touches a heart’. Looking back on my education and school life, I have realized I am one lucky student.

My experience at school has been amazing and life-changing. It did not only provide a platform to enrich academically but also emphasized all-round development. It has helped me grow from someone who was in a shell to someone who is confident and proud to be myself. Most importantly, it is the place where I recognized my uniqueness and individuality. Be it studies or Co-curricular activities; teachers have been constantly guiding and motivating us to give our best. Academic excellence along with the overall growth of the student is what the school has always aimed at. Timely guidance from teachers kept me motivated and focused on my goals and helped me to choose my professional journey.

My school has been an exceptionally important step on my stairway to success. The people I have met, and the memories I have made here will have a special place in my heart forever. I will always be grateful to my school, principal, and teachers for making me the person I am today.

A conducive environment to learn, a supportive environment to grow and a transcendent environment to create memories; an institution called School. This is how I like to describe my Alma Mater, Holy Cross English School. I was a part of this institute for 12 years and with each passing day I was more grateful to be a part of it. My school helped me in my holistic development, from learning different subjects to learning life lessons, from valuing things to respecting people. I started my journey in HCES in the year 2008 as a Sr.Kg student , and I went on to complete my 10th std in 2020 from this school itself , today after 13 years when I look back at myself I see a completely different person from a naïve , silent and nervous  kid to a  , Motivated , confident  and a Ambitious guy I’ve come a long way . My school , teachers and friends have sculpted me into what I’m today . I remember my teachers picking me up for the annual day performances even though I was least interested, gradually even I started taking a keen interest , after moving on to the secondary section I was exposed to more such activities like Elocution competition , Quiz , Science Exhibition to name a few , I remember bagging the 4th place in my very first English elocution competition my happiness knew no bounds . I further went on to represent our school at inter school quiz competition in 6th standard, such activities fueled our young minds . Courtesy of my teachers who acted as perfect thirst quenchers for my ever curious mind. This very school and the teachers are the reason I developed an unparalleled liking towards subjects like social sciences, which helped me explore my field of interests .Which also one of the reasons how my   of joining the Indian Armed Forces  started becoming my only aim in life . My teachers constantly motivated me and took great interest in solving and answering my doubts even though they were not relevant to the syllabus .After passing out from this school , I started preparing for the entrance exams to join a military school to for my further  education and NDA exam preparation   , amidst the lockdown I cleared the entrance to one of the military schools and Joined AFPI kolhapur from where I passed my 12th. Currently I’m pursuing my B.Sc.in Geology from St. Xaviers College, Mumbai as well as preparing for my entrance exam . I never imagined I would achieve so many milestones and the lions share goes to my teachers and the entire management of Holy Cross English High School . I feel immensely proud when I say that I’m an alumni of such an esteemed school .

Testimonials

I had joined the school in 8th std when I had recently shifted due to some family problems & was going through a rough patch in life, but that was for not long as the teachers helped me make new friends and encouraged me take up on activities and develop a holistic personality. Prior to that I had a very shy personality, however in this school I started taking up activities outside my comfort zone like sports, inter-school events & drawing due to the safe environment provided.

Also, participated & helped in organising annual events as the school gave the students opportunities to step up into leadership roles which definitely help in the college life & career ahead.

Later on I went ahead to get admission in HR college, the best college in the city for commerce & also cleared all my levels of CA in first attempt & currently I work at a Big4 firm, but I can definitely say that those 3 years in Holy Cross English High School played a pivotal role in my personality development and helped me reached this position in life.

I can never thank enough all the teachers who were always ready to help academically as well as lent their ears to hear our personal problems & become our friends, & also Father Brendan who was strict at times but gave us ample of opportunities to grow to be capable & confident adults who can face challenges of life fearlessly.

I have very fond memories of this school & if given a chance again, will definitely choose this school over any other CBSE or ICSE school.

I transferred to Holy Cross English School in the sixth grade. Changing schools at such a later stage was a daunting experience but the warm and inviting environment here made the transition easier. I can honestly say that the teachers here made the entire learning experience fun, genuinely paying attention to the needs of each student and were thoughtful and nurturing. Everyone was super approachable, whether it was a question about the subjects we studied or about my future plans, their advice has always been insightful.  It helped me figure out my dreams and pursue them. I am truly grateful to Holy Cross English School and all the incredible teachers here for helping me develop as an all round individual! I have nothing but fond memories of this place!

I did my complete school education from HCEHS. It has a vital role in what I am today. All the support and encouragement that Fr. Brendan (our principal) and my teachers have given me back then is unforgettable. They gave me the confidence to dream big. A school is like the base of our education, which should always be strong. That’s why studying from a good school and its good teacher’s is very important and today i can proudly say that I did.

One of the best memories in my life is the school time. Every kid cries when it comes to waking up early morning and going to school. But this wasn’t the same in my case. I used to go happily to my school because it was the place where all the life lessons were taught. They prepared me for the world outside school. Not only this, but they also helped me choose my career by conducting various aptitude test and seminars on the same. My school was my guiding light in my life. Whenever I hear the name ‘Holy Cross English High School’, all the memories come rushing back bringing a smile on my face.  It was the best school I could ever ask for.
